Karate Raider is one of those '90s gems that you either love or find utterly perplexing. The film follows Jake Turner, who's on a mission to rescue a DEA officer from the clutches of a drug lord in Colombia. It's a wild ride with plenty of action and some unexpected twists. The pacing feels frantic at times, but it kind of adds to the charm. The performances are... well, they're earnest, and you can feel the effort even if the delivery sometimes misses the mark. It leans heavily into practical effects, which gives it a rawness that you don't see much today. There’s a certain grit to the atmosphere that complements the action well, making it a distinctive entry in the genre.
