Katmundu is an interesting piece, really. It follows three software engineers who, disillusioned by their mundane jobs, decide to pack their bags for Nepal. You can feel the stress of their everyday lives seep through the screen, making their journey seem relatable. The pacing has a nice rhythm; it takes its time to build their friendship and the bond with the girls they meet along the way. It’s lighthearted, definitely a comedy, but it dances around themes of self-discovery and the unexpected turns life can take. The performances are fairly solid, capturing the awkwardness and charm of young adults navigating relationships. No flashy effects, just a simple, effective storyline that has a unique feel to it.
