Killer Car is one of those low-budget horror flicks that somehow manages to tap into that classic feeling of road trip dread. The story follows a college couple and their friends heading to some picturesque waterfalls, but as we find out, their ride is a whole lot more than it seems. The car, cursed by its previous owner's tragic demise, gives the film a nice mix of supernatural tension and the classic fear of the unknown. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but there are some decent practical effects sprinkled throughout that keep things interesting. Performances are pretty standard, but the atmosphere really sells the horror element. It's this blend of youthful adventure and lurking danger that gives it a distinctive edge, even if it doesn't break new ground.
