Killer Video is a curious blend of horror and science fiction that gives you that gritty SOV vibe. The film throws you right into a world of mutants and uses practical effects that have that low-budget charm—think gushing head wounds that are so over-the-top, they almost feel like a badge of honor. The pacing is all over the place, which adds to its chaotic feel, almost like an old-school video nasty you’d find buried in a thrift shop. Performances are raw but they give the characters a certain authenticity. It’s a wild ride that doesn’t quite follow the rules, but that’s part of its charm. You can tell Carl J. Sukenick was going for something unique here, and it definitely leaves an impression.
