Kingdom Under The Sea: Return of the King is an intriguing blend of animation and fantasy, reminiscent of C.S. Lewis' storytelling style. The film follows Splash and his sister Coral as they eagerly anticipate the return of the great whale King. The plot thickens when Splash inadvertently reveals a secret, making the devious squid Krakken take action, which adds a nice layer of tension. The computer animation, while dated by today's standards, brings a unique charm to its underwater world. The pacing has its lulls, but the characters are engaging enough to keep you invested. It’s the kind of movie that creates a whimsical yet slightly eerie atmosphere, making it stand out in the family genre. It’s not groundbreaking, but it has its own character.
