Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a bit of a gem, really. Shane Black’s blend of crime and comedy has this playful, self-referential vibe that keeps you on your toes. The pacing is sharp, with rapid-fire dialogue that feels organic rather than forced. Robert Downey Jr. is in fine form, playing off the absurdity of the situation, and Val Kilmer's deadpan delivery adds a nice contrast. There’s a gritty Los Angeles backdrop that feels authentic, and the practical effects have a certain charm. The film’s a bit of a love letter to classic noir, but it never takes itself too seriously. It’s fun to watch and definitely stands out in the mid-2000s landscape.
