Knight Rider (2008) has a unique blend of nostalgia and modern tech. Directed by Steve Shill, it serves as a pilot for a reboot, trying to capture the essence of the original while updating it for a new audience. The pacing feels a bit rushed at times, which can make the narrative a tad uneven. The practical effects used for the supercar are pretty engaging, though CGI pops up now and then and can feel out of place. The dynamic between the ex-soldier and the AI car, KITT, is an interesting take on partnership and trust. The performances have a certain vigor, but they also echo a more straightforward action sensibility that may or may not resonate with long-time fans of the franchise.
