Koboi Sutra Ungu is this quirky little comedy from 1981, featuring Olan Delong, a cowboy type who's more than just a dude in a purple scarf. It’s got this oddball vibe, with Olan caught up in a love triangle involving Denok, who’s already taken. The pacing is a bit erratic, but it somehow adds to the charm as Olan navigates city riots ignited by Al Jiung’s criminal crew. What really stands out is the blend of slapstick with some surprisingly dark moments, especially with the fake Al Jiung that pops up. The performances are a mixed bag, but there's a certain earnestness that makes the whole thing endearing. It's the kind of film that you can just pop on for a laugh and a head-scratch.
