La Mar Salada is quite an interesting piece, really. You’ve got this unique blend of animation that reflects the salty essence of the Galician sea, which feels almost dreamlike at times. The pacing has this quaint, almost gentle flow to it, allowing the viewer to soak in the atmosphere. The backdrop of Asturian sailor songs adds a nostalgic layer, transporting you back - or perhaps to a place you’ve never been, but wish you could. The animation style is captivating, evoking a sort of simplicity that complements the themes of sea and memory. It's distinctly regional, too, capturing that local flavor of Spain in a way that feels both personal and universal. Not many films like this, I’d say.
