Ladies' Doctor, directed by Joe D'Amato, is this peculiar blend of comedy and oh-so-slightly risqué themes. The pacing has a certain carefree flow that just rolls along, almost like a whimsical jaunt through the absurdities of high society. You’ve got Dr. Lo Bianco, who’s in quite a bind financially, running off to work under the watchful eye of colleague Giovannaldi, who seems to have a knack for charming the upper crust. The plot thickens as he gets entangled with a wealthy manufacturer’s wife, leading to some awkward and humorous situations. The performances have this almost exaggerated quality, adding to the film’s offbeat charm. It’s got those vintage practical effects that you can’t help but appreciate. It’s definitely a unique slice of 70s Italian cinema worth a look, if only for the sheer absurdity of it all.
