Lassiter is an interesting entry in the 80s action-crime genre, bringing a certain suave charm to the story of a jewel thief played by Tom Selleck. The film has this slick, almost playful tone, as it balances heist elements with the drama of being caught by the law. The pacing feels just right, not too rushed, allowing you to soak in the atmosphere of the high-stakes theft at the German Embassy. The performances, especially from Selleck, carry a light charisma, but there's a noticeable tension throughout. What stands out is the practical effects used during the heist sequences; there’s a tangible quality that CGI just can’t replicate. It has a bit of that classic 80s vibe, definitely a unique watch for collectors.
