Left is a compact little horror piece that really plays with atmosphere. It’s set deep in the woods, where three girls find themselves lost, and you can feel the tension building as they navigate their surroundings. The pacing is tight, and it leans heavily into that creeping dread, taking advantage of the natural sounds and shadows of the forest. The practical effects, while not overdone, serve to enhance the eerie tone without feeling gimmicky. Performances are solid for a short film; you can tell the actors are fully immersed in their roles. What sets this apart is its ability to evoke a sense of primal fear, making you reflect on how isolation can twist the mind. It’s raw and edgy in all the right ways.
