So, Chapter 2 of the Legend of the Galactic Heroes is really something. It’s a continuation of that epic narrative we’ve come to appreciate, but this time it really digs into the complex political and military themes. The pacing is quite deliberate, allowing for character development and the weight of their decisions to settle in. Ryuichi Kawamura's score underpins everything, adding to the atmospheric tension. Although the direction is credited to a lesser-known name, the performances shine through—each actor brings a certain gravitas to their roles. Practical effects are used thoughtfully, enhancing the overall immersion into this interstellar conflict. It’s heavy on dialogue but rewarding if you’re willing to engage with the material.
