Licence to Kill has a grittier vibe than many other Bond films, which is partly due to its darker themes like revenge and betrayal. Dalton really makes the character his own, bringing a more intense and vulnerable angle to Bond. The film’s pace is generally relentless, and the action sequences—especially the pre-title sequence—are well-executed, with some solid practical effects that hold up well. The locations in this one are also quite vibrant, capturing the essence of the Caribbean. It really stands out in the series for its more personal stakes, with Bond going rogue and taking matters into his own hands, which adds a nice layer of depth you don’t always get.
