Lingering is an intriguing piece of horror that does a lot with a little. The whole film feels like a slow descent into dread, mostly set in this one room that somehow feels both familiar and unsettling. There's a subtlety to the scares that creeps up on you. The pacing is deliberate, allowing tension to build naturally, which I appreciate. The practical effects are pretty effective, bringing a tactile quality to the horror, unlike so many CGI-heavy flicks we see these days. Performances are solid, evoking a sense of isolation and fear that really sticks with you. It's an interesting exploration of memory and regret, and there's something to be said for its atmospheric approach. Definitely not your typical jump-scare factory.
