Lisbon Story is a lovely, reflective journey. Wim Wenders captures the soul of Lisbon, blending the city’s charm with the art of filmmaking. The sound engineer, played by the excellent Rico Baisch, is searching for his friend, a filmmaker in a bit of a creative slump. The film's pacing is leisurely, almost meditative, encouraging you to soak in the atmosphere. The music, a mix of diegetic sounds and a wonderful score, really adds to the mood. It's a film that's more about feelings and connections than plot. And there’s a certain rawness to the practical effects that enhances its authenticity. Wenders’ love for film and personal storytelling is palpable throughout.
Released in 1994; part of Wenders' road movie phase.Features a mix of Portuguese music and location sound.Shot on location in Lisbon, showcasing the city's beauty.Includes a short film, 'The Lisbon Story,' in the DVD extras.
