Lonely Hearts has a gritty vibe that nails the post-war noir aesthetic. Todd Robinson does a decent job capturing that bleak atmosphere of the late '40s, blending crime, drama, and a twisted romance. The performances, especially by John Travolta and Salma Hayek, add a layer of tension β they really embody the unsettling charm of the couple. The pacing tends to linger in some spots, which could feel sluggish but kind of suits the mood, letting you stew in the characters' toxicity. The practical effects used for some of the more intense scenes hit hard without relying on too much CGI, which I appreciate. It's not a perfect film by any means, but it has its moments that stick with you.
