So, 'Lonely Hearts Club' is one of those indie flicks that really tries to capture the awkwardness of connecting with others, especially when you’ve been through something as heavy as cancer. The pacing is a bit slow, but it kind of suits the theme; you feel the tension as Karla navigates these speed dating encounters. The atmosphere is a mix of hope and hesitation, which is interesting. Each guy she meets is a unique character, but they often miss the mark in communication, which feels all too real. The performances have a raw quality, especially from the lead, who brings a lot of depth to her character. It’s not flashy, just more of a grounded look at love and survival, which I appreciate.
