Love & Human Remains is one of those films that balances comedy and drama in this uniquely Canadian way. Denys Arcand really captures the uncertainty of relationships, especially through David, who's just drifting through life, waiting tables and juggling his feelings. The dynamic between him and Candy, his ex, is rich with that kind of awkward tension that only old friends can have. You can feel the weight of their past while they navigate their present, which is a mix of romance and social exploration. The performances are solid—real, raw, and at times hilariously uncomfortable. There's a real sense of place in the film too; it just feels like a bustling city but also a bit isolating. Not your typical rom-com, for sure.
