So, 'Love Matters' is a bit of an interesting watch. It intertwines the lives of a 52-year-old man, his teenage son, and his older brother figure. You've got Tan Bo Seng, who’s played by Henry Thia, leading a rather unexciting life; he’s sort of a classic everyman. Then there’s Benny, the son, who’s navigating those teenage waters and, of course, Jeremy, the adopted brother, who adds that layer of complexity. The film mixes comedy and drama in a way that feels rather genuine, with its pacing allowing moments of reflection amid the humor. It touches on themes of love's unpredictability and the different forms it can take, all wrapped in a relatable atmosphere. Very much a character-driven piece, I’d say.
