Love Me! (1986) is an intriguing drama that really captures the raw emotion of a troubled adolescence. Sussie, a 15-year-old girl, has been through the wringer with her alcoholic mother and an absent father, and you really feel the weight of her experience. The pacing is contemplative, allowing the viewer to sink into Sussie's world and see her struggles with vulnerability. The seaside house where the Lindgren family lives adds a haunting, almost melancholic atmosphere to the film. I find the performances here—especially from the lead—to be quite poignant, conveying a sense of longing and hope amidst chaos. It’s distinct in its unflinching portrayal of family dynamics and a kid's search for belonging. Definitely worth a watch for its emotional depth.
