Lunatics, Lovers & Poets is one of those films that blends a quirky charm with a bit of melancholy. You have this struggling novelist β I mean, who hasn't been there, right? β and then his father, a homeless guy who's been living in the shadows of Shakespeare for two decades, just shows up out of nowhere. The pacing is pretty interesting, with some moments where it drags but ultimately it captures that chaotic vibe of life. The practical effects here are minimal but serve the emotional weight well. Itβs a character study, sure, but there's this underlying exploration of creativity and family that feels raw and real. The performances have a certain grit to them that fits the overall tone nicely.
