Made is a neat little crime-comedy directed by Jon Favreau. The vibe is laid back, with a raw and gritty feel that mirrors the underground boxing world. Favreau and Vince Vaughn have that excellent buddy chemistry you expect, which makes their misadventures in a money-laundering scheme pretty engaging. The pacing has a nice ebb and flow, balancing out the humor with some tense moments. Plus, there's a certain charm to the practical effects and the way the film captures the New York City backdrop. It’s not flashy, but there’s something refreshing about its simplicity and the way it explores themes of friendship against a backdrop of crime.
