So, 'Make Money' from 2013, directed by an unknown, has a rather interesting vibe. It’s a comedy but digs into some heavier themes of family and failure, which I find intriguing in such a light genre. The main guy, Tri, played by Ray Sahetapy, is this entrepreneur who’s got it together in business but really fumbles in his role as a dad. His sons, Aris and Rachmat, are, well, quite spoiled and arrogant, which adds a certain tension. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but it definitely leans into those comedic moments. The performances are solid; you can see the actors having fun, yet there's an underlying critique of wealth and family dynamics. It’s distinct for how it balances humor with these more serious undertones.
Interesting take on family dynamics.Comedy with underlying serious themes.Solid performances, especially from Ray Sahetapy.
