Mascot really digs into how a seemingly stable family can unravel. It’s tense, almost claustrophobic at times. The performances are pretty raw; you can feel the anxiety and desperation in every scene. The pacing is deliberate, allowing for some heavy moments to breathe, but it never feels dragged out. The atmosphere? It’s thick with unease, and there’s a starkness to the visuals that complements the themes of extremism and isolation. Practical effects aren't a highlight, but the realism in the dialogue and interactions really brings the story home. Definitely a film that lingers in your mind long after the credits roll.
