So, 'Metamorphosis' is one of those films that really takes its time to build up. You’ve got this geneticist who’s deep into the whole anti-aging research thing, and when he tests his drug on himself, it doesn’t end well. The atmosphere is thick with dread, and the practical effects are pretty gnarly—definitely a highlight of the film. It’s not the fastest-paced flick, but the creeping tension and the body horror elements really give it a unique vibe. Some performances might come off a bit stiff, but they add to the overall unsettling tone. There's something to be said for its exploration of human ambition gone wrong, too.
