Mifune has this laid-back charm that sneaks up on you. The film balances comedy and drama nicely, with Kresten’s journey back home feeling like a bittersweet reunion with his past. There’s a certain warmth in the way it tackles themes of family and the contrast between success and roots. Søren Kragh-Jacobsen directs with a gentle touch, and the performances, especially from the supporting cast, feel authentic and lived-in. The pacing is easy-going, letting moments breathe without rushing, which is nice. It’s a subtle film that doesn’t yell for your attention but lingers in your mind long after. If you enjoy character-driven stories with a hint of quirk, this one’s worth a watch.
