So, 'Milk White' is quite a poignant piece, really. It dives deep into the life of Takayuki, a teacher whose world starts to crumble as he battles Behçet's syndrome. The way the film captures his gradual descent into blindness is haunting. You feel this heavy melancholy throughout, accentuated by the quiet, almost meditative pacing. The performances, especially by Takao Osawa, are raw and sincere, really drawing you into his emotional struggle. The setting in Nagasaki adds a layer of nostalgia and loss, which intertwines beautifully with the themes of love and separation as he leaves Yoko behind. The cinematography has this subtle elegance that complements the somber tone, making the storytelling feel intimate yet expansive. It's a unique watch, for sure.
