So, 'Mistletoe' is an interesting blend of horror and holiday chaos that plays with the anxieties of teenage life. Set in a Christmas party in 1981, it really captures that awkward mix of alcohol and flirtation. Kim, the main character, finds herself in a nightmare as a demon, fed by teen hormones, wreaks havoc. The pacing has a nice balance of building tension and those moments of comic relief that feel very true to the genre. Practical effects are used well, and there’s an atmosphere of creeping dread that feels almost nostalgic. It's got this unique charm, a bit raw, but really brings out those teenage fears and the darker edge of holiday gatherings.
