So, 'Mom, Dad and Her' is an interesting mix of drama and a bit of family turmoil, directed by Anne Wheeler. You really feel the tension in Sydney’s character, a troubled teen who’s been thrown into a new life after her mishaps back in the city. The pacing is kind of slow, but it works, allowing you to really sit with her struggles as she clashes with her dad and his new wife. It’s raw, especially the performances; you can sense the emotional weight carried by the actors. The themes of family dynamics and teenage rebellion come through pretty clearly, and while it’s a TV movie, it has a certain grit that sets it apart from typical fare of its kind.
