Morning Lies is a quirky blend of comedy and drama. It dives into the murky waters of deceit and manipulation, all through the eyes of Ne’naa, a blind music teacher played by Ahmad Adam. His stepfather Zeinhom, portrayed by Saeed Tarabeek, and the new wife are relentless in their aim to get their hands on his inheritance. They set a trap involving Poussy, a nurse with dubious intentions, played by Amira Fathy. The film strikes a balance, with light-hearted moments amidst the tension of betrayal. The performances are quite engaging, particularly Adam’s portrayal of vulnerability. What really stands out is how it tackles themes of trust and exploitation in relationships, wrapped in a somewhat whimsical, yet dark, atmosphere. The pacing can feel a bit uneven, but it adds to the unpredictability of the narrative.
