Morton Mean is a rather haunting look at the deep shadows cast by depression. The film doesn’t shy away from the gritty aspects of its subject, mixing raw interviews with stark visuals that really pull you into the emotional weight of each story. It has this almost documentary-style pacing that gives you time to reflect, but also keeps you engaged. The tone can feel heavy at times, which is, I think, its strength—emphasizing the struggles without romanticizing them. There's a certain authenticity to the performances, even if the director remains unknown. You can almost feel the weight of each narrative lingering, making this film distinctive in how it handles such a complex issue. Not your typical documentary, for sure.
