So, 'Mr. Deeds' is one of those comedies that captures the absurdity of wealth and fame in a pretty lighthearted way. Adam Sandler plays the titular character, a quirky small-town guy thrust into a world he doesn't quite get, which leads to some genuine laughs. The pacing has its ebbs and flows, but it keeps things lively enough. What stands out for me are the supporting performances, especially John Turturro as the eccentric but endearing butler. The film has a certain charm, even with its predictable moments. It's a classic Sandler vehicle with that mix of romance and humor, and while it might not be groundbreaking, it’s certainly got its quirks that make it enjoyable on a lazy afternoon.
Director: Steven Brill, known for light comedies.Runtime: 96 minutes, fits nicely for a quick watch.Released by Columbia Pictures; standard DVD and Blu-ray editions.Cinematography by Dean Cundey, adds a polished look.
