MUM is an interesting blend of tension and tenderness that really digs into the day-to-day struggles of motherhood. The film's atmosphere is heavy with a sense of danger lurking just beneath the surface, which creates this constant feeling of unease. The pacing is a bit slow at times, but it allows us to really settle into the protagonist's life, her joys and her fears. You see the lengths a mother will go to for her child, which might resonate with many viewers. The performances, especially from the lead, are raw and heartfelt, making the emotional stakes feel very real. It's gritty in its depiction of working-class life but manages to maintain a sense of warmth, which gives it a distinctive edge.
