Murder Ahoy is this curious blend of comedy, crime, and drama that combines a whodunit with a bit of nautical charm. Margaret Rutherford is in top form as Miss Marple, bringing her unique energy to the investigation aboard a ship. The film's pacing is light, yet it maintains a sense of intrigue that keeps you engaged. The practical effects are pretty standard for its time, but they work well within the context. What stands out is the way it embraces its setting; the ship creates a closed environment that adds to the tension. Certainly not as dark as some other entries in the genre, but its whimsical tone and quirkiness make it a distinct watch in the Miss Marple series.
Fourth and final film in the Miss Marple series.Filmed at Pinewood Studios, known for its sound stages.Features a score by composer Ron Goodwin.Released in the UK and later in the US; various DVD editions.
