The pacing is tight, leading you through suspenseful moments that culminate in encounters with these inbred cannibals. The practical effects, while perhaps not groundbreaking, add a gritty charm that fits the rawness of the film. The performances do a decent job of portraying the desperation and fear. It’s not going to win any awards, but there’s something about its rough edges that gives it character.
