So, 'My Day' is definitely a tough watch, but it really captures the rawness of street life. Ally, the protagonist, feels like someone you could meet on any corner, and the director - whose name escapes me - manages to immerse you in her chaotic world. The pacing is gritty, almost relentless, mirroring Ally's struggle as her day spirals out of control. The performances feel genuine, especially in the way they portray the desperation and vulnerability of living on the edge. The practical effects are minimal but effective, adding to the authenticity. There's a palpable tension throughout that keeps you engaged, even if it’s not exactly a feel-good story.
