So, Natsume's Book of Friends: The Waking Rock and the Strange Visitor has this unique dual narrative. The first story, "Ishi Okoshi," gives us a fresh perspective with Mitsumi, this small youkai, who's tasked with waking Iwatetsu. The atmosphere is rich, filled with a mystical charm that feels very much in line with the series' themes of connection between humans and youkai. The pacing is deliberate, allowing moments of introspection and subtle emotional depth. Then there's "Ayashiki Raihousha," which dives deeper into the complexities of the supernatural. The animation, as always, is fluid and expressive, enhancing the emotional weight of the characters. The performances are heartfelt, making you really feel for Natsume and his journey. It’s a lovely continuation of the series' exploration of friendships and the unseen world.
