Nowhere Mind is one of those films that lingers on the fringes of the psyche. The atmosphere is heavy and claustrophobic, perfectly fitting the tension of Ivan's journey through experimental meditation. The story intricately weaves his battles with a mysterious illness and his growing involvement in the love triangle between Emily and John. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the viewer to sit in the discomfort of each character's choices. The practical effects in the out-of-body sequences are surprisingly effective, adding a layer of surrealism without overstating themselves. Performances feel genuine, especially in the subtle glances and unspoken tension between the characters. It’s the kind of film that invites you to ponder and reflect long after it’s over.
