Onolulo really captures a raw, gritty aesthetic that feels very much of its time. The film dives deep into the lives of two young women, Carla and Giulia, both navigating economic hardship in their own ways. Carla’s innocent, almost naive outlook contrasts sharply with Giulia’s more provocative choices. There's a palpable tension as they come together one fateful night, each representing different facets of survival. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the atmospheric score and moody cinematography to immerse you in their world. It's low on flashy effects but high on emotional resonance, thanks in no small part to some solid performances that keep you engaged. I’d say it’s a unique commentary on the choices we make when pushed to the edge.
