Open Desert is one of those films that sneaks up on you. It’s an adventure-romance, sure, but it captures this raw, gritty vibe with its sun-soaked desert landscape. The pacing can feel a bit uneven, but it actually suits the tension of Lucie’s desperate situation quite well. The performances are solid; you can really feel the chemistry between Lucie and Ben, which adds depth to their harrowing journey. Practical effects, especially during the survival scenes, are done well, lending a sense of realism. It's not just a love story — it digs into themes of desperation and determination. Kinda makes you think about how far you’d go for love, or even just survival, while navigating the harshness of life.
