Oshima is really an intriguing piece. It's like a dream you can't quite shake off. The whole film breathes this surreal atmosphere, capturing the disorientation of Mr. Oshima as he meanders through a night in Germany, far from home. There's a heavy sense of isolation, almost claustrophobic at times, as he finds himself in odd situations with that businessman and translator. The pacing is deliberately slow, allowing moments to linger, which really enhances its dream-like quality. The practical effects are subtle but effective, adding to that otherworldly feel. Performances are understated, yet they pull you in, making you feel the protagonist's confusion and desperation. It’s the kind of film that sits with you and invites contemplation long after it ends.
