Palisade is this oddball comedy that just kind of sits in that sweet spot of dark humor and awkward tension. The premise is wild; you've got Lloyd, who, in a frantic attempt to help his girlfriend, ends up robbing a convenience store. But then it spirals into this bizarre hostage situation with a woman and her cat. The pacing is kind of erratic, which fits the chaotic vibe of the whole scenario. It’s not overly polished, but that gives it a distinct charm. The performances, especially the lead, balance desperation and absurdity really well. It's one of those films that captures a certain offbeat energy, making it memorable in its own right.
