So, 'Palpitation in the Breeze' is a curious little gem from 2019 that dives deep into family secrets and the weight of the past. The film follows Nyein, this high school kid who seems to have it all figured out, but then her friend drops a bomb about her dad's history. It's got this slow-burn intensity, just builds and builds as she digs into old wounds in Hpa-an, which is beautifully shot. The atmosphere is thick, almost oppressive at times, and you really feel Nyein's internal struggle. The performances are pretty raw, especially from the lead—there’s a sense of authenticity that grabs you. It’s distinctive for its moody pacing and poignant exploration of personal vs. public shame. Definitely a film that lingers in your mind.
