Parasyte: Part 1 offers a unique blend of horror and sci-fi, with a really unsettling atmosphere that creeps up on you. The visual effects are surprisingly effective for a live-action adaptation, especially given the way they bring the parasite's grotesque nature to life. Takashi Yamazaki really captures the dread of isolation and the question of what it means to be human. Plus, the duality of Izumi's character—how he struggles with his parasite—adds layers to the narrative. The pacing might feel uneven at times, but it builds a slow-burn tension that keeps you invested. Definitely one of those films that sticks with you long after it ends.
