Pathamudayam is quite an intriguing piece from 1985 that sits in the drama genre, crafted by J Sasikumar. It has this gritty atmosphere, revolving around crime and identity. B. G. Menon’s recruitment of Vikrman, a criminal who looks just like the slain cop Jayamohan, adds layers to the narrative. You really feel the tension build as Vikrman navigates this dangerous world. The pacing has its moments, sometimes slow, yet it allows you to absorb the weight of betrayal and vengeance. The performances are noteworthy, especially the duality of Vikrman as he straddles both sides of the law. It’s distinct in its exploration of morality, making you ponder the choices we make while living under shadows of crime.
J Sasikumar's direction is notable.Strong performances that drive the plot.Unique take on crime and morality themes.
