Patriot Games is a solid entry in the Jack Ryan series that leans more into the drama than you might expect from a typical action flick. Noyce captures a tense atmosphere, especially in the way it deals with the consequences of violence—not just the action but the fallout that follows. Ford delivers a raw performance, making Ryan feel both relatable and flawed. The pacing shifts between quieter moments of family life and intense encounters with the IRA. The practical effects hold up well, giving a sense of realism that CGI often lacks. It's gritty and perhaps a little too heavy on the dialogue for some, but that adds depth to the narrative. A decent watch if you’re into political thrillers that don’t shy away from moral ambiguity.
