Paycheck has this unique mix of John Woo's action style and a sci-fi twist. The premise is intriguing β a guy who loses his memory after each job, which leads to some wild scenarios. The pacing is pretty tight, and once it gets going, you're in for a ride. Ben Affleck is solid as Jennings, and his chemistry with Uma Thurman adds a nice layer. There's something about that early 2000s aesthetic β the practical effects, especially during the action sequences, feel tangible. Itβs not a perfect film, but it definitely has that distinctive Woo flair, complete with elaborate shootouts and a sense of fate. Definitely a curiosity in the sci-fi action genre.
