So, 'Planet des Lebens: Quo Vadis Mensch' is this intriguing documentary from 1997 that explores the relationship between humanity and the natural world, or at least that's the vibe I got from it. The pacing is pretty contemplative, allowing the viewer to really sit with the ideas presented. There’s this atmospheric quality, almost meditative, that makes it distinct from other docs of its time. The visuals are striking, often using practical effects that give it a tactile feel, unlike all the CGI-heavy stuff we see now. And while the director's name escapes me, the performances—if you can call them that—of the narrators and interview subjects are quite engrossing, drawing you into a conversation about our place in the world. It’s more philosophical, really, which is refreshing.
