So, Plastic Sex is definitely one of those oddities that really showcases the bizarre side of early '90s comedy. You’ve got these inflatable puppet characters, Big Jim and Marylin, who explore their inflatable desires in a kitschy Elvis room—it's all rather surreal and a bit absurd. The pacing is kind of all over the place, but that’s part of its charm, with a non-stop barrage of Kamasutra references that feel both cringeworthy and oddly fascinating. The practical effects are what set it apart, really; the way they manage to bring these characters to life is just… something else. Performances are deliberately stilted, playing into the plasticity of the whole concept. Definitely a film that exists in its own weird little universe.
